The lovely woman at the front desk of the hotel (night of April 3) was so kind and tried her best to help me out of a pickle. Her kindness is much appreciated! The hotel is simply gorgeous, and the service certainly makes it memorable.
The staff were good and attentive to our needs. The rooms were comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was good and the location is ideal for a short visit to Edinburgh especially as its a 15min bus ride to the centre. Free parking is available too.

Just stayed one night in this hotel. Was quite expensive but that would partly be the location. Service was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Room and beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning which appears not to be something you should not take for granted is installed (especially cooling). But it worked well. Beds were very soft it was lovely but not sure if my back would have liked it if I had stayed longer. Would still be nice to hear more Scottish accents. Definitely recommend the hotel though. The staff looked after our bags until later in the afternoon when we left for the airport which gave us most of the day to wander the Golden Mile. Loved Scotland
A really good hotel in the middle of Edinburgh. Was quite impressed by the breakfast, which included a buffet as well as the opportunity to order special dishes. The porridge was very good, and the buffet had all the usual stuff. Really good standard on the rooms and a very welcoming staff at the reception. Highly recommended!

The hotel is located within walking distance of the castle and Victoria street. The breakfast is pretty good and the rooms are quite nice as well. The one thing though is that the rooms don't have air conditioning but have built in fans that barely work. This can make the room quite warm in summer.
Great location!! A short walk to the main areas/shops. We stayed for me night and our room was decently priced and included everything you would need for just one stay. Loved it!

Probably the best beer garden in Edinburgh. South facing garden that’s well designed and very clean! A great way to unwind with good food a cold beverage, after walking up authors seat, which is a stone throw away! The staff have always been super friendly and always make the dining experience a joy! Thanks to all the staff at Salisbury Arms!
I went here about a year ago and wasn't that impressed, but recently went back for the Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it, so felt a revised review was in order! I had the box-baked Camembert to share as a starter, wasn't cheap but was excellent (the topping, chutney and garlic-butter covered dough sticks really made it). For my main I had the trio of roasts, which was excellently presented and had a hearty portion of chicken, beef and pork. It's a nice place inside, bright and spacious and decorated to a high standard. I'd recommend it for special occasions, there's quite a few seating options for larger groups too.

Lovely location, away from hustle and bustle of city centre. Very welcoming staff. Good choice if beers. Food delicious. Only slight downside was portion size of kofta starter and linguine main could have been bigger, and steak was medium rather than rare as requested. These are minor points however and would happily return and recommend.
Marvellously fun pub with proper old skittles out back. Visited for next day post-wedding get together. Back room with skittles was hired for a few hours. Excellent fun for a crowd, young and old. Food was absolutely excellent. Beef sliders, chicken burgers, sweet potato chips, pizza, all fresh and cooked to perfection. Beef sliders also slightly on the rare side which is exactly how you serve them when your meat is as good as theirs. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Would have enjoyed a couple more ales to choose from, hence the 4 and not 5 stars but other than that, perfect.

A very nice cozy restaurant in the Grass market in Edinburgh. With bunch of vegetarian options in their menu and great drinks variety, this place is not to be missed if you are in Edinburg. Staff is friendly and we got the table without any wait. We had their lentil cottage pie, veggie burger and mac and cheese. Lentil cottage pie is indeed a unique dish and a must try in this restaurant. The reason why I am giving 4 stars is because of the long wait time after we placed an order and they also ran out of lentil pie on a weekday!! 🙄

My 2 friends & I stayed at Peters flat 3 years ago. It was clean and well taken care of, sweet decor. With a view of the castle from the window, it was perfect. Loved it!

Mike & Anne are the absolutely perfect hosts for this absolutely perfect B&B. Very nice rooms and a great breakfast!

What a fantastic stay! Vivian was full of good advice and absolutely charming. Very central location. High ceilings throughout and large windows in the rooms, all nicely decorated. The bathrooms were apparently just renovated and they're really modern. Nice beds, and we enjoyed the TV. Breakfast was lovely. Would absolutely recommend!
Vivienne is so friendly and helpful. Great eating spots nearby and close for walking to castle. Lovely rooms. We will stay here again when we return to Edinburgh!

Lovely bnb within walking distance to the old town and new town. The bedrooms are well proportioned and felt quite spacious. Newly renovated bathrooms were clean with thoughtful amenities such as shower cap and shampoo included. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had at any hotel. Everything was cooked to perfection and we were able to try Scottish haggis which was delicious. We would stay here again so that we could have breakfast everyday! Fiona and Jimmy were fantastic hosts that were friendly and ready to help with anything we needed. Highly recommend staying here.
10/5. Had a plane delay, and the owners could not help us enough, we got there at 2am. They had the menu already for breakfast which we dropped off. Had an amazing sleep and also breakfast. Bed was amazing. Great location and hosts. Thanks so much. Enjoy your time back in Bali.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

I stayed here for 3 nights in a full service pitch with a family; I was in a hired motor home and this site was extremely easy in getting acquainted with the ins and outs of touring. Although it was really busy 1 of the three nights it was very quiet. The grounds are very clean and the facilities are well maintained. There is a pub on the property, but I wend for some food at 1900 and the kitchen was closed. The bus into the city is a short walk up the road and tickets can be purchased in the office. I bought all my tickets in one day, as the buses only take exact change. The front desk employees were accommodating and tend to you quickly.
Well appointed camping and caravan site but very busy with hundreds of stands. However we felt there were not enough showers for the number of people there. We were only there overnight and had the last 2 showers getting up at 06:30 and saw a steady stream of people queuing when we finished showering 10 minutes later. Having said that the showers were clean and rich plenty of hot water. Apparently there are frequent bus services into Edinburgh from the campsite making it very convenient for a visit to the city.
