Service is quite good. Staff are patient
I banked here in the 1970s; the manager was a criminal maniac who ought to have been in jail. Perhaps he is. I haven't seem him for some time.

Lovely, prayerful church in the centre of Edinburgh. People are very friendly and there is a very good holy shop and a great cafe after Sunday Mass.
Yes, it's a Catholic church. Everyone is welcome. Masses are celebrated on Sunday at 1pm, Tuesday at 6.30pm, Saturday at 11am (although not every week on Tuesday). After the Sunday mass you can come to the café on the back of the church and have tea/coffee and something to eat. There's a well stocked library with christian writings as well. God bless.

Helpful and friendly staff. I look forward going there to see how the garden staff have created with unwanted goods has developed, they have made a dull place to an entertaining place.
Congratulations to the staff who have taken the time to make a little garden area around their cabin. I dropped some rubbish off yesterday and it brightened a dull edinburgh evening to see the colourful display. Well done. Staff were pleasant and helpful as usual.

Had a lovely lunch here with my son. The menu was varied but would have benefited from being re-printed as there were scratch and sniff areas left by other diners. Service was good and the food was beautiful. Quite surprised by the bill as it was very reasonable for such a nice restaurant. I had the burger and my son had the belly pork. Both were good portions that tasted great and the chips were fab. A lovely lunch time experience.
Good company always enhances good food and The Outsider did not fail on its side of that equation. We had a centre table with a view of the castle even though we had not booked. The food was well present, flavoursome, fresh and of an adequate portion. Service was courteous and appropriate even though the restaurant was busy. The decor is simple and effective. Rather rustic with exposed brick, wooden panels, simple white tables (a tad small) and basic chairs. All-in-all an enjoyable first visit to The Outsider. Hopefully the first of many to check that I didn't get this initially review wrong.

Good restaurant. We had the 3 course meal option for around £13.50. It was good to get a taste of lots of things but the serving sizes were a little bit too small. Came here for haggis and wasn't disappointed, great place if you want a good haggis. Very nice atmosphere as well.
Need to book beforehand if you're coming on Jan 1. Otherwise the staff would just dismiss you. My first visit in September though, was a different story. Had a lovely time having dinner there, especially with haggis and soup of the day.

Food is interesting AND delicious. Service always good but especially when wee ones are involved. Their taster menu events are very worthwhile. Apiary is a neighbourhood favourite of ours.
We've been here 3 or 4 times now in our short stay in Edinburgh. Nice food and great place to relax and bring the baby for lunch. Interesting menu with local produce, would highly recommend
